Gator 2000 Breaks the 100mm Barrier
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, Dec. 8 -- Lambda Physik has introduced the GatorTM 2000, a new diode-pumped solid state Nd:YAG laser for precision manufacturing of metal, ceramic, and diamond. The company says that the Gator 2000 is capable of drilling holes smaller than 100 mm (.004"). It is designed to deliver the best of DPSS features with a 10 kHz repetition rate, 10 W average output power (6 W at 532 nm and 4 W at 355 nm), high peak power (15 ns pulse), and a superior beam profile. According to Lambda Physik, the Gator 2000 offers critical production advantages, such as lower operating costs, reliability, easy system integration, higher efficiency, ease of use, and a small footprint (330x112 mm2). Target markets include the automotive industry, semiconductor-device manufacturers, and the medical-device industry.
