Video Savant Supports I-Series Frame Grabbers CHELMSFORD, MA, Nov. 29 -- IO Industries and Foresight Imaging have announced that Video Savant video recording software now supports Foresight's I-Series of frame grabbers. According to IO Industries, its Video Savant imaging software products provide scientists and engineers with tools for high-speed video acquisition and storage, real-time video processing, image analysis, and custom application development. Applications for the Video Savant platform include university research, industrial process and quality control, healthcare and medical research, military research, and the entertainment industry.
Foresight's I-Series is designed to offer low pixel jitter of +/- 1.0 ns; a signal-to-noise ratio of 59dB; 10-bit analog-to-digital conversion; and superior analog design. According to Foresight Imaging, the I-Series also provides 120 MB/second sustained transfers to system memory using scatter-gather PCI bus mastering to support high-speed video streaming and machine vision applications. Simultaneous real-time display is attained by either real-time transfer over the PCI bus directly to display memory or by direct connection to popular graphics boards via the VIP/VMI industry-standard bus on the I-Series. Other features include standard and non-standard video input resolutions up to 2048 x 2048 pixels; acquisition rates up to 60MHz; external trigger; H and V sync input; external clock input; extensive machine vision controls; and 12-bit gain, 12-bit black level, and phase adjustments. Video Savant for the I-Series is available immediately from IO Industries. According to the company, features include: digital video recording at over 6 MB/second to disk; distributed digital video recording across multiple PCs for data rates as high as 120 MB/s; and multistream recording and real-time, host-based processing using stream filter technology. IO Industries says that once the imagery is captured to system memory or disk, every frame is online for processing by the image-processing engine. The engine has a set of functions for processing single images or sequences of images at a time. The user interface is designed to enable efficient access and execution of image-processing routines. |
