Lambda Physik Receives CLEO 2000 Awards

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, May 24 -- Lambda Physik received two awards at this year's CLEO show, including a Technology Award from Lasers & Optronics (L&O) and a CLEO/QELS 2000 New Product Award.

Lambda Physik's NovaLine F600 Fluorine Laser was among the 15 winners of the Technology Award. The L&O editorial board reviewed all new products introduced in the magazine during 1999 and selected their top choices. The Gator UV dpss laser was among the 10 recipients of the CLEO/QELS 2000 New Product Award.

The industrial-grade Gator UV microdrills and micromachines hard materials such as stainless steel, ceramic, and diamond. This hermetically sealed, diode-pumped, third harmonic Nd:YAG laser is designed to meet production process demands.

According to Lambda Physik, the NovaLine F600 series is the most powerful commercial F2 laser available. With repetition rates up to 600 Hz and stabilized power at 10W, it is suitable for micromachining tough materials (e.g., quartz/fused silica, Teflon/PTFE; glass); developing the next generation of optics, resists, and scanners for DUV lithography at 157 nm; micro-optic fabrication and testing; and surface analysis.
