Data Optics Announces Silicon Eyeball II
YPSILANTI, MI, Mar. 12 --Less than a year after introducing the original Silicon Eyeball camera for optical laboratory use, Data Optics, Inc. has announced the enhanced Silicon Eyeball II featuring 800 x 600 pixel, Super VGA resolution and 24-bit color. According to the company, these enhancements enable the Silicon Eyeball II to provide greater ability to see what an experiment looks like when viewed along the optical axis. The Silicon Eyeball II is a tethered camera that plugs into the USB connector of any modern Wintel PC or Apple Macintosh computer. It allows users to view images in real time on the computer screen or capture images for later analysis or documentation. Data Optics says that this product mimics the capability of the human eye and is well suited to many laboratory applications. Software for Wintel and Mac platforms is provided on CD-ROM.
