Lambda Physik Extends StarLine Series

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Lambda Physik has added a 500 Hz DPSSL system to its StarLine series. The new StarLine 2030/0.5 offers pulse energies of 8 mJ at 1064 nm with a pulse length of less than 13 ns. According to the company, the short pulse length and high pulse energy make this laser ideal for micromachining applications, such as drilling holes in steel. The new supply unit is designed to increase performance and reliability, while decreasing maintenance.

Lambda Physik says that the TEM00 beam profile represented in all StarLine versions is the key to efficient generation of the harmonics. StarLine 2030/0.5 offers pulse energies of 5 mJ and 532 nm, 3 mJ at 355 nm, and 1 mJ at 266 nm. This model is designed to offer a cost-effective alternative for applications requiring a lower repetition rate. The 500 Hz StarLine also reduces operation costs by increasing the diode lifetime to two times (in hours) that of the StarLine 2030/1 and 2030/3.
