Point Source Demonstrates the iFLEX-600
HAMPSHIRE, UK, Jan. 29 -- Point Source recently demonstrated the iFLEX-600, a compact fiber coupled laser diode system. The iFLEX-600 is designed as an OEM product to replace traditional HeNe lasers and is already being used in scientific, industrial, and medical applications. According to the company, the "turn-key" nature of the the iFLEX-600 makes it well suited for system prototyping and as a proof of principle before investing in the development of a custom product design. Point Source says that by using a fiber delivery system, the iFLEX-600 eliminates beam pointing-error, even on cold-start ups. The iFLEX-600 is solid-state, designed to run on low power and generate little environmental heat. Eliminating the need for beam-steering mirrors makes the iFLEX-600 easier to integrate into OEM modules, says the company. The beam can be delivered remotely with no additional routing. The iFLEX-600 unit contains the laser, laser driver, a stainless-steel
fiber jacket, and stainless-steel housing for the output lens assembly.
Point Source has designed the iFLEX-600 to operate at three wavelengths
(635, 650, and 685 nm), at power outputs of 0.5 to 10 mW. It also comes
in in a variety of output terminations and fiber lengths. |
