New Diode Laser Delivers 2kW
Through Fiber Optic Connection

BALTIMORE, MD, May 25 -- JENOPTIK Laserdiode, a member of the JENOPTIK Group, has introduced a 2-kilowatt diode laser available through fiber -- the JOLD-2000-CAXF-25P2W2. The company says that this compact system provides power densities up to 250 kW/cm2 at the target, making it suitable for high-power industrial laser systems, especially robotic applications.

According to JENOPTIK Laserdiode, the JOLD-2000-CAXF-25P2W2 combines the company's advanced beam-shaping technology (patent pending) with a fiber-based beam-guiding technique developed by HIGHYAG Lasertechnologie GmbH. This director-redirector principle of JENOPTIK Laserdiode and its beam-shaping optics allow the laserdiode to generate symmetrical kW diode laser beams. The beam parameter product (half beam waist x half divergence) of less than 200 mm mrad, both in fast and slow axis, makes fiber-coupling possible, says the company.

JENOPTIK Laserdiode expects to see the JOLD-2000-CAXF-25P2W2 used in applications such as soldering, welding, hardening, remelting, surface alloying, cleaning, and plastics welding. The 2-kilowatt diode laser is available in custom design variants and can be tailored to various applications.
